There have been a lot of changes in website development since I first started in the business. It's been great fun keeping up with it all. I believe the changes in the industry have made websites more capable, faster loading, and more fun...to look at and to create! Now I teach website design and development at a major private university here in San Antonio. I teach html5 and css3 as well as emerging web technologies. Teaching helps me stay on top of the latest technologies.

 

In addition to websites written in html5/css, I also create websites using content management systems like WordPress, Joomla and Drupal.  If you like, we can use a theme available on-line (free or available at a small charge) or, if you like, I can create a theme for you. Content management systems are a great way to create sites witih superb functionality at a reasonable cost.

 

 

I have found setup and configuration of CMS sites to be very straightforward and they allow for a good bit of creativity. In addition, each of the above can include a variety of extensions, components and modules to improve functionality and accessibility of your site. Another potential benefit is their ease of use. Once the site is set up, clients can potentially maintain the site themselves.
