Steaming hot chocolate with little marshmallows on top. What’s not to like about that?
Instant Hot Chocolate Mix
We have been using this recipe for hot chocolate since the late ‘80s when Jim’s mother shared it with us. I have no idea where she found it, but it is great, easy and delicious.
Ingredients
- 8 qt. box of Carnation Dry Milk
- 11 oz. jar of powdered creamer
- 1 lb. box of Nestle’s Quik Chocolate Drink Mix *
Instructions
- Put all together in a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
- Store in airtight containers. (I use the empty plastic containers that the ingredients were in plus an apothecary style storage jar for the counter.)
- To serve fill a mug 1/3 to ½ full with mix then add hot (almost boiling) water, stir well and enjoy.
Notes
*I think I am going to try adding extra dark chocolate to the mix by using some Dutch Process Cocoa powder along with the Nestle’s to make it even chocolatier.)
